Isn’t portmanteau the singular form of that noun? And portmanteaux the plural version? So isn’t portsmanteaux redundant? Just asking.

Actually a portmanteau of two potential plural forms of portmanteau: portsmanteau (in the form of attorneys general or remotes control) and portmanteaux (like cadeaux). And this has been an example of portsplaining.
